Scripture: John 4:49, 50
The Royal official said, "Sir, come down before my child dies". Jesus replied, "You may go. Your son will live." The man took Jesus at his word, and departed.
Just a quick thought (I apologize for the delay in getting this to you...) while I am on the road... halfway between Colorado and Seatlle, WA:
How difficult is it for you to take Jesus at His Word? Think about it... we have His Word... the Bible. We can consult it any time, for any problem that arises, and we can discover His direction for that problem. The Word is the very best advisor we have, and yet... how few of us truly understand how to take Christ at His Word?
The end of this Biblical account tells us that while the man was still on his way home, the servants came and announced that his son was living. This did not come as a surprise to the man, because from the moment Jesus spoke the words, he (the man) put his faith into action, and started on his way home.
When you do your daily devotionals, how many times do you pray the prayer, "Lord, help me to be a "doer" of your Word, and not just a "hearer"? I encourage you - to experience spiritual growth - go out in ACTIVE FAITH, and DO what the Word says... no matter how impossible it seems, it will work out!! Don't take MY word for it....
