"Simple Math"

A Devotional by Eric S. Reamer

Passage: Romans 8:31

"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?"

Math...

Very few people I know really enjoy the topic of mathematics. If one had to make a list of things they'd rather discuss, there very well may not be enough room on this planet to include the topic of math in the list of priorities.

And yet - there is not a single day that goes by, when mathematics does not directly affect each and every one of us. It has been called the "universal language", or the only "true, pure form of communication". The reason for that is this: mathematical principles never change. They always remain the same, and therein, we find the stability for the makeup of life.

2+2 will ALWAYS be 4!

Now THAT is what I call, "simple math". Adding two numbers the same every time will always give the same answer, no matter what day, or time of day you do the adding. It is constant. Nothing can change it. You can put money in the bank on that truth. There is another truth upon which you can place your trust...

God's Simple Math

In the book of Romans, Paul wrote: "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?"

Friends, it doesn't get much simpler than that. If this were a test question, it would be a multiple choice with the same answer for A, B, C and D! Plainly put - there is nothing too big, no one too bad, no problem too hard, for those of us who own the truth, "God is for us".

Pop Quiz

Now here's the question of your lifetime - on the pop quiz that will last for eternity: ARE YOU FOR GOD?

Have YOU made that choice on a personal level? Have you done the math, and realized that EVERYTHING in the whole world added up doesn't amount to anything without the Lord? If the answer is "no", you can make that choice, right here - right now. You can E-Mail me personally, and I would be happy to take you through that process, or you can just talk to the Lord, right where you are - and tell Him you need Him, and want Him to save your soul on this day!

If the answer is "yes", and you have already asked Jesus to be the Lord of your life... here's another question for you: Are you experiencing the victory that can be yours, as Paul wrote about in Romans 8:31? Have you adopted the attitude that "God and I make a MAJORITY"? If you haven't made that committment yet - allow me to encourage you to do so right now... take a moment to pray, and thank the Lord for the authority that is yours IN CHRIST!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, Please help us all to realize that You are the one who is for us, and if You are for us - NO ONE can be against us! Help each one to receive the victory that only comes through You! This I pray, in Jesus' name, Amen!
